How to Be Eligible for OINP Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills Stream

Eligibility is the cornerstone, and the OINP has established specific criteria to gauge your suitability for this stream. Let's explore the qualifications you need to meet: The Job Offer You Received Must Meet the Following:

  1. Full-time and permanent (1,560 hours of paid work annually).

  2. Occupation falls within the NOC skilled occupations in Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibilities (TEER) categories 4 or 5. (See table below for the list of eligible occupations)

  3. Align with or exceed the median wage level.

  4. Job role is of urgent necessity to your employer's operations.

  5. The geographical base of your work must be Ontario.


You Must Meet the Following Personal Criteria:

  1. Demonstrate your sincere interest in settling in Ontario and receive an invitation to apply.

  2. Possess at least 9 months of cumulative paid full-time work experience (or equivalent in part-time work) in Ontario, in the same in-demand occupation as your job offer. The experience gained should be within the three years prior to the date you submit your application.

  3. Hold a valid license or authorization, if applicable to your occupation.

  4. Prove your English or French language proficiency at a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 4 or higher.

  5. Hold a Canadian secondary school (high school) diploma or a credential equivalent.

  6. Demonstrate your intent to make Ontario your home.

  7. Maintain a legal status, such as a work permit, study permit, or visitor record within Canada if applying from within Canada.
