CAREGIVER PROGRAM OVERVIEW.
The Caregiver program is designed for individuals who want to work as live-in caregivers in Canada. This program allows candidates to become permanent residents after they have worked full-time in Canada for two years. The program targets experienced caregivers willing to work in Canada to care for children, the elderly, or disabled individuals. To be eligible for this program, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria set by the Canadian government
It’s important to note that these programs are currently being run as pilots, which means that they are subject to change. At Chitra and Associates, we work closely with individuals to determine the best pathway to permanent residency based on their unique circumstances.
If you’re unsure of how to begin your immigration journey, our team offers a consultation service where we can evaluate your unique circumstances and recommend the most suitable immigration options for you. Our focus on personalized solutions ensures that every client receives the highest level of service and support throughout their immigration journey.

Applying for a new work permit
In order to work as a caregiver in Canada, foreign workers must first obtain a valid work permit. This allows them to legally work in Canada for a specific period of time.
To be eligible for both the caregiver programs of Canada, caregivers must have a job offer from a Canadian employer.
Once the caregiver has a valid job offer, they can apply for a work permit.
If approved, the caregiver will receive a work permit that specifies the duration and conditions of their authorized work in Canada.
